Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

April 17, 2021Amanda

My senior year of college, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Europe. My family has a lot of Greek heritage, so a trip to Greece was definitely on my bucket list during my travels. I can still easily picture myself sitting outside a café eating Baklava.

The fresh, Mediterranean cuisine of traditional Greek dishes is something I continue to gravitate towards. While I cannot always travel to Greece to enjoy authentic meals while looking up at the Acropolis, I can add some Greek touches to my family meals at home.

Traveling has always been a favorite of mine. I love trying new foods, visiting historic landmarks, and learning about different cultures. While traveling is not always an option, especially during these pandemic times, it is nice to bring a taste of international cuisine to my home. This homemade tzatziki sauce recipe will add vibrant, refreshing flavor to any dish! This sauce comes together quickly and can be made ahead of time.

This tzatziki sauce can be used as a dip, served with toasted pita or veggies. Or you can use it to make gyros. Pictured above is our version of a chicken gyro. The tzatziki sauce is spread onto a pita, topped with shredded chicken, red onions, and tomatoes.
